Fellowship Project & Instructional Interests

Jen is a Lecturer in Anthropology and the Director of the UMass Alliance for Community Transformation (UACT). She teaches courses on structural inequalities, community organizing, and popular/community-based education.

Jen is interested in using this symposium as an opportunity to think through how to better use technology in her large Gen Ed class, Anthro 205: Power and Inequality in the United States. The final project in this class has been a group poster presentation and individual papers, and she would like to moving this project into an electronic format through a blog and/or electronic portfolio that incorporates the various elements of the project. She would also like to develop methods for students to work together and to ask and respond to questions online in a quick and substantive way during lecture itself.
