My challenge is to engage students with mathematical content in our intermediate microeconomics course.  This is particularly challenging as the students have varying mathematical backgrounds with the median student being underprepared and some students being very well prepared.  In the past I have added a lab component to the course which is an additional meeting dedicated to the mathematics.  This lab involves presenting the material and an example and then having the students work in small groups on a similar problem.  Going forward I would like to investigate the possibility of using a blended course for this where more of the course time is spent working on problems in groups.
