Fellowship Project & Instructional Interests

Traci Parker is an assistant professor in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American
Studies, where she teaches classes on the Civil Rights Movement, African American Women’s
History, and capitalism. Parker is completing her first book on the racial integration of white-
collar work and consumption in twentieth-century department stores. She was recently named a
Nancy Malkiel Scholars at the Woodrow Wilson Foundation and was awarded a National
Endowment of the Humanities Summer Stipend.
